How fees work
Orthodontic care costs more than a checkup, so here is how paying works, in the order most adults ask.
Insurance we work with
Orthodontic benefits are often separate from dental benefits, and some plans cover aligners differently from braces. We work with the plan types below and are out of network with others. Naomi checks yours and tells you in writing. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.

If you pay yourself
You get one fee for the whole course, with the retainers listed on it, and the cost of a refinement if one turns out to be needed. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
After a payment you get an itemized receipt. If your plan reimburses out-of-network care, you can send it in, and the plan decides what it pays.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, at your scan visit or sooner if you ask. It lists what the course includes, what it doesn't and the fee.

Checking your benefits
Naomi calls your plan to ask what it pays toward orthodontic care, and tells you what she finds before you commit. A plan's answer isn't a promise of payment.

What the scan visit includes
About an hour: a talk about what you'd like, a look at your teeth and gums, a 3D scan and X-rays only if Dr. Hussain needs them. Health history goes on our private patient portal, not in a message or the contact form.

About paying
Can I split the cost?
Third-party lenders offer financing. Approval and terms are set by the lender, and we tell you who they are before you apply.
What if my plan has an orthodontic maximum?
Many do. Naomi tells you what your plan says it will pay, and the rest is on your estimate.
Ask about the fee before you come
Naomi can answer questions about paying over the phone, before your scan visit.
