Limited aligner courses
A limited course is a shorter series of aligners for adults whose teeth have moved a little, often after earlier treatment, and who want a few teeth adjusted rather than the whole bite.
What happens
The visits, in order
- 01
Step 1: Scan visit
A scan and a talk. Dr. Hussain tells you whether a limited series fits what you want.
- 02
Step 2: Plan and estimate
You see the planned movement of the teeth involved, and a written estimate.
- 03
Step 3: Your trays
A shorter series, worn as you would a full one.
- 04
Step 4: A last check
Dr. Hussain checks the result, and you move on to your retainers.
When it fits
Why it isn't for everyone
A limited course moves fewer teeth by a smaller amount. If your bite or the roots of your teeth need more than that, Dr. Hussain says so at the scan and recommends a full series instead.
What it is
Fewer teeth are moved
A shorter series of trays
Retainers afterward, as with any course

Before you decide
Comfort, other routes, risks and billing
Comfort
The same tightness you'd expect with any new set, for a few days. Tell us what's normal and what's not.
Other routes
A full series or braces may suit you better. If you leave things as they are, Dr. Hussain tells you what she expects.
Risks and after-care
The risks are the same as for a full series: a gum or cavity problem comes first, roots can shorten in rare cases and teeth move back without retainers.
How it's billed
A limited course has its own written estimate before it starts. Insurance and payment are on the fees page.

Questions about limited aligner courses
Can a limited course turn into a full one?
Sometimes the scan or a check-in shows that more movement is needed. Dr. Hussain tells you, explains why and gives you a new estimate in writing.
Do I still get retainers?
Yes. Every course ends with retainers.
How do I know which course I need?
You don't have to. The scan visit answers it.
